Petal Palette Bundle Stampin Up

I love this bundle and all you can do with it!

 I love the paper too!

I wanted to do something different.... watercolor and not so much black, more spring like and more happy.  I like light pastel colors and Spring has been on my mind even though it is only January.

I started water coloring with my markers onto whisper white paper.  Yes, whisper white will take water color but it will buckle and distort. You can not go with too much water but it will work.   I did not care, when dry it is OK. I brushed some color onto a stampin block spritz with water and using a 1" paint brush, I brushed color on in different strokes.  I did not feel the whole paper just here and there for for effects of sky and grass.

I used the leaf die to cut out the branch from green/white paper.

I stamped out the bird and than die cut with die.   I made many so I can have them for the future ready to use. I used chocolate brown rather than black to give a different look.

My dear cat Grayson could not stay away from helping me with design.  He liked the bird and flowers....he helped with the setting.

I cut out the flowers and painted them with Berry Burst water color. The leaves Lemon Lime Twist.  The bird Marina Twist water color and after it dried I used the fine end to put more darker color in strokes of feathers.

I ran the water color front layer of 4" x 5-1/4"  through the Big Shot using the Quilt Embossing folder.  I added this to a black layer of 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" to give a shadow box effect.   I added this to Whisper white Card stock of 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" score, fold and burnish at 4-1/4".

Stamped sentiment on whisper white and punched out using 1-3/4" round hole punch.

When I was finished it came out to my liking!

Enjoy the others in the Bundle Up! Blog Hop!
